Another Weekend Pillow Project
Continuing with my need to replace and update the throw pillows around the house, I whipped up a patchwork leather and striped fabric pillow this morning. The shiny striped fabric contrasts nicely with the pieces of llama hide. Here’s to another productive Sunday morning.

New Etsy Item…Vintage Floral Fabric Pillow Cover
Finished a larger version of the vintage floral fabric pillow cover and posted it to my Etsy shop. Hopefully others will love it as much as I do.

A Dog’s Decorating Sense
Our pup, Pudge, decided it was time to start redecorating the living room this morning by destroying a throw pillow. He seemed to think the white fluffy filling looked better strewn about rather than enclosed in its case. Or perhaps he just didn’t love the fabric choice. Either way, it was time for a new pillow cover.
A quick 16″ envelope cover with button closure on the back put some brown and cream home dec fabric I had on hand to good use. Hopefully Pudge will approve.

The not-so-innocent culprit
Llama Hide Turned Magazine Tote
The chocolate brown llama hide that had been sitting on the fabric shelves for way too long has finally been transformed. It’s now the perfect leather magazine tote that I hadn’t been able to find in a store…at least not for less than $250. I chose to incorporate oversize metal rings to attach the wide shoulder strap. Turned out pretty nice, if I do say so myself.

Vintage Flower Fabric Pillow Cover
I decided it was time to update some pillows around the house. Here’s the first finished pillow cover. I used a vintage pink and green floral fabric for the front, added some beading and embroidery and finished it off with a green grosgrain fabric on the reverse. Adding a three-button closure gives it a nice clean look.
Think I’ll be making some more of these for my Etsy store. Watch for them soon!

Bib for Audrey
I finally got around to downloading some photos off of my camera. The bib for Audrey turned out quite nice. For the front I used bright, coordinating cotton prints. The back is a really soft terry cloth in light pink. I added a lofty interfacing to give it some overall heft and the pouch on the front should work well as a crumb catcher. Bright pink binding ties everything together.
Although it’s as girly as can be, my nephew immediately wanted to wear it. Even little boys look good in pink.

Mother’s Day Presents
It’s almost Mother’s Day and I have a new niece on the way. What better way to celebrate my sister-in-law on this special day (and break in my new Gingher shears) than to make her a handmade present? I think a bright and girly bib will be the perfect gift.
I’ve decided on coordinating pink and orange cotton fabrics backed with soft terry cloth. Girly and fun…everything a niece is supposed to be.
Workroom Revamp…Take One
I finally decided that it was time to update and organize my workroom. Trying to keep track of supplies for a multitude of projects in different media can get out of control quickly. It’s getting there but still needs some work and additional organizational tools.
